Sunderland and Tunisia forward Wahbi Khazri has survived an injury scare and been passed fit to compete at the Africa Cup of Nations.
The competition kicks off this weekend in Libreville, Gabon.
Khazri suffered an ankle injury just 16 minutes into Sunday’s friendly game against Egypt, a 1-0 defeat.
But the Tunisian Football Federation has subsequently announced that the 25-year-old will recover in time to participate at the continental showpiece.
“It’s not serious, it’s a benign ankle sprain. He will be able to play in Gabon,” read a statement.
Tunisia begin their campaign against Senegal this Sunday, with Algeria and Zimbabwe the other teams in Group B.
